This technology allowed for the creation of machines that convert percussion and a small portion of a vehicle’s static weight into energy that “pushes” sensors and tools into the ground.

Direct push tooling provides continuous soil cores. With this technology, technicians can recover continuous soil cores through holes only slightly larger than the core itself. This provides those analyzing the soil with more context and information that they can use to make more informed conclusions.
Direct push tooling eliminates cuttings. Traditional drilling techniques create cuttings that are removed as the machine advances, creating waste that must be handled and factored into operations. Eliminating cuttings altogether reduces overhead and can even prevent exposure to potentially hazardous waste.
Direct push tooling utilizes highly mobile machines. Old-fashioned drilling technology often involves the use of large and clumsy rigs. Direct push tooling, on the other hand, can be utilized by a wide range of rigs that allow for effective soil sampling in almost any environment.
