Hole Plug 3/8" Chips 50lb Bag

SKU:
 HOLEP

PDS Bentonite Plug 50 Ib . This large angular chunk bentonite is the most affordable form of bentonite. Most often used in well abandonment and water-well construction backfill; the large 3/8″ chunk size means a longer hydration period and greater water penetration before the breakup. This makes this product ideal for large diameter well uses and even deep pond repair from the surface.

PUREGOLD MEDIUM CHIPS are natural sodium bentonite screened to 1/4 inch (0.64 cm) to 3/8 inch (0.95 cm) in size. Puregold Medium Chips are certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60, Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals – Health Effects.

Recommended Uses
Sealing shallow boreholes and seismic shot holes; decommissioning wells; providing an interface between gravel pack and bentonite or cement grout; Pond repair in shallow to deep ponds. Bentonite hydrates to 3x original size and fills in cracks and crevasses, sealing up the leaks and stop excessive water seepage.

Characteristics
• Chemically stable. Results from TCLP Priority Pollutants analysis are below RCRA limits for hazardous constituents
• Prevent infiltration of surface contamination
• Provide a high-solids bentonite seal
• Provide a permanent, flexible seal

Bulk Density
69.25 lbs/ft3 ((1109.28 kg/m3)

Packaging
50 lb (22.7 kg) bag, 48 per pallet. All pallets are plastic-wrapped.

Mixing and Application Instructions
Because chips may develop fines during transporting and handling, bagged material should be screened of fines before placement. Pour chips slowly downhole to prevent bridging or binding In unsaturated conditions, water should be added at 2 ft intervals to ensure adequate hydration.
